I find it hands-down hilarious.  Not the subject matter or the debate surrounding it — no.  It’s the fact that, well, by tearing down this bumper sticker and also taking a photo and launching their anecdote into the Tumblrsphere, this person almost guaranteed buzz for something they were repulsed by. As a bonus the post is an engraved invitation to question their actions and make an act of “defence of another” (“what if the next person …”) become “who do you think you are?” I guess the takeaway point is — removing a symbol doesn’t demand an explanation of whatever bullshit you think is behind it.  If you really dislike something, interrogate it.  Get precision instruments and lean in on the weakest points.  Don’t just get mad, get clever.
